Can anyone email me a Guild Wars 10 Hour free trial?
its on its way... enjoy!

Should I buy Guild Wars if Guild Wars 2 is coming out soon?

I've been trying to find a new game to play and started the free trial for Guild Wars. I like it and I'm considering buying it. Is it worth buying Guild Wars with all the campaigns when Guild Wars 2 is coming out soon? Should I just wait? I think the release date was supposed to be sometime in 2011 and now it's in 2012. Any information or opinions will be helpful!Should I buy Guild Wars if Guild Wars 2 is coming out soon?
1. Yes, Guild Wars 1 is still a lot of fun to play, and through playing it you will develop a good understanding of what is essentially the backstory of Guild Wars 2. You get to see the lands 250 years before the start of GW2, and before they were ravaged by the rise of the Elder Dragons.

Plus, it is a really cool game, very epic and storydriven.

Also, if you play Eye of the North you can accumulate points in your Hall of Monuments (I have a clip about that in the channel below) that translates into gear and titles in Guild Wars 2 for your character there.

2. There is still no releasedate on GW2. Arenanet is stating it will come out "when it is done" (I made a clip about that, too). All dates are just speculation or rumourmongering, but we do know that Arenanet are hoping to go into closed beta this year, and then move into open beta and hopefully launch next year.

The channel below and its associated Facebook-page is a good place to start if you want more information about the upcoming game Guild Wars 2 - you can even request specific clips to be made to answer your questions!
gw2 maby will release at 2012.So i suggest you play guild wars1.

Eurogamer picked up the comments in a recent investors conference call, in which Lee said that “starting from year 2012, we believe substantial growth will be driven by new blockbuster titles like [Blade %26amp; Soul] and Guild Wars 2,” suggesting that the game will come out next year.

Back in January, ArenaNet’s Regina Buenaobra said that “the release date continues to be: when the game is ready.” The game’s been in development since 2007, but it looks as though we’ll have to wait a little while longer.

We saw it recently, and it’s shaping up very nicely indeed. Find out more in our Guild Wars 2 preview, and check out the recent fly-through trailer showing off the City of Lion’s Arch. There’s currently no way to sign up for a beta. We’ll let you know when sign-ups begin.

Guild Wars 2 will be free – in that it will not be subscription based to play month to month.

Guild wars 2 is better.

Product Features

Guild Wars 2 provides a massive, online persistent world.

Free online play. No monthly fee.

Players have the freedom to play together even if their friends are at a much higher (or lower) level

Players will be able to engage in organized, balanced PvP (similar to GvG in the original Guild Wars) without needing to first level up characters, find equipment, or unlock skills.
its usually better to play the first one before the second one.you will have a better understanding of the game. if however you are not interested in spending a lot of money its not gonna kill you to wait for guild wars 2Should I buy Guild Wars if Guild Wars 2 is coming out soon?
We still don't know when GW2 will be released. ArenaNet themselves have never given a release date, and the 2011 estimates on some websites (such as IGN and Gamestop) were only placeholders by the sites/retailers. The only thing ArenaNet have said is, "when it's done", because they want the game to be the very best they can make, and they will take whatever time they need to make it so. All we know is that the game is in closed alpha testing now, and they will start closed beta before the end of the year. That could take several months. After that there will be a public beta, and then the release.

So personally, I expect the game late Q1 2012/early Q2 2012 at the earliest. It could still be later, though

All this means, that you still have at least several months to play GW1. Right now, there are still plenty of people playing the game, and you should have no problems finding people to adventure with. I do expect this number to drop significantly when GW2 is released, but ArenaNet have said that they will keep the GW1 servers running as long as there are sufficient people playing it, so even after the launch of GW2, you will still be able to continue playing GW1... at least for a while.

Gameplay-wise, GW1 and GW2 are completely different games, and there is no need to play GW1 before playing GW2. However, there are several reasons why you may want to do so anyway:

* Playing through the GW1 stories (especially the Prophecies story and the Eye of the North story) will give you a better understanding of the history and lore of Tyria, which is the basis for GW2.

* People who own the Eye of the North expansion are able to place statues for a variety of achievements in the so-called Hall of Monuments. When GW2 is released, there will be a way to link your GW1 account to your GW2 account, and you will get some item rewards in GW2 based on the number of achievements you have in your HoM in GW1.

* The GW1 Live Team are still adding new content to the game occasionally (for free), especially content related to crossover stories to show what happened in the 250 years between GW1 to GW2.

* The game is just overall fun to play, and nowadays you can already buy the Trilogy (all 3 major campaigns) for around $30 and the Eye of the North expansion for around $10, which is a really great deal for the amount of content you get (and no monthly fees). It should be easy enough to get your money's worth before GW2 is released.

I'm about to try the free trial of guild wars any suggestions?

One thing that is relevant: Guild Wars has 3 different 'campaigns' (story lines), thus 3 different starting points. There is the original Guild Wars campaign (also called 'Prophecies'), and then there are 'Factions' and 'Nightfall'. I don't know what trial key you have, but if you have a choice, then I recommend doing the Nightfall trial, as that will also (immediately) give you access to 'heroes', which are computer controlled (optional) party members that you can take along everywhere to help you. And Prophecies would put you in an isolated starter area for the first 10-12 levels (equipment, skills etc are extremely limited there, plus unlike Factions and Nightfall, it lacks a true tutorial to explain the game mechanics).I'm about to try the free trial of guild wars any suggestions?
I also recommend you start in the Nightfalls campaign if you can. The heroes are much more powerful than the minions you can normally get. Also the starting area for Nightfalls is pretty good compared to the other campaigns, with easy options and compact enough that you can don't have to waste a lot of time traveling.

On the other hand if you are really looking for PvP, start in Factions because it has more PvP options.

You can create a trial account at www.guildwars.com and it lets you play for ten hours over the course of two weeks. Then you will have to either upgrade the account online or buy it in a store to keep playing.

Of course, there is no monthly fee at all so once you buy the game/upgrade the account you can play a much or as little as you want for no additional money.
